Golden Generation: Women of the Rajaruban Family
I created a series of photographs and designed the set, highlighting the tradition of passing down heirloom gold jewellery to the next generation of South Asian women. This portrays the affection that comes down when gifting or inheriting these gold jewellery pieces, when historically these pieces were used to build financial assets for women. This shows the development of older generations' attitudes towards gold being a commodity versus the younger generations seeing these jewellery pieces as sentimental heirlooms from their ancestors.
Prints Display:Â RaggarB Etsy Shop
For my Etsy store, I wanted to create display pictures for my prints that would be simple but still decorative, showing off the potential of each print. I didn't want to waste paper and ink by printing all the prints, so I photographed a plain sheet of paper on the wall and decided to add the print images in Photoshop. I used my plants as a way of giving each wall an environmental aspect so that it shows the personality of each wall along with the example print. I also photographed images of the prints that had different sizes and showed the comparison between the print sizes. I then did some retouching to the images in Photoshop, such as managing the colours, altering the perspectives and adding the images from the prints onto the photographed paper.
